Footnotes
WORK HARD broke a bit inward brushing with ARROW SPEED, eased back off of foes soon after and secured the inside, settled back off the dueling leaders, edged up past the half then angled out three wide, advanced to take aim into the lane, forged past embattled rivals in mid stretch, went clear under left handed asking, drifted out a bit before being straightened then steadily widened. DEVIL'S CAY , away alertly, got into a duel outside ARROW SPEED around the first turn, continued that battle through the backstretch and final turn, held a slim advantage past the three sixteenths, failed to contain the winner's outside charge but dug in gamely for the place. FORMAL AFFAIR settled well off of the hotly contested pace, took closer order off the rail into the far turn, angled four wide gathering more momentum past the five sixteenths, circled four wide into the stretch to loom, remained on his left lead and failed to generate the needed finish. CATATUMBO tracked the duelers while two wide and to the inside of CUT THE CORD, edged up into the far turn, was under a hustling ride past the five sixteenths, shifted out and came up empty. ARROW SPEED , brushed at the start, disputed the pace to the inside of DEVIL'S CAY, fought on past mid stretch then weakened late. CUT THE CORD bobbled at the break and was away last, regrouped and was sent up four wide, chased the leaders through the backstretch run, lacked a punch nearing the quarter pole and faded.
