Footnotes
TWELVE NELSON bore out bumping RAILROAD INN leaving the starting gate, set the pace outside KNUCKER PUNK leaving the backstretch, went clear approaching the stretch, was hooked near the sixteenth pole, drifted out determinedly prevailed. RAILROAD INN , bumped on both sides leaving the starting gate, circled the turn four wide, advanced outside the winner to challenge for the lead inside the sixteenth pole and just missed in a game effort. KITTY'S SON bumped with RAILROAD INN when drifting in leaving the starting gate, chased the pace from the three path on the turn, found room inside the top pair the final furlong and flattened out. QUAHOG REPUBLIC , steadied in tight quarters between horses approaching the stretch, failed to rally. FURIOUS GEORGE showed some speed along the rail on the backstretch, steadied in traffic entering the turn and weakened. KNUCKER PUNK showed speed along the inner rail and gave way in upper stretch. MY FRIEND LOU was not a factor.
