Footnotes
THE LAST JUMPSTART , forced in a bit by MR. HOUGHTON soon after the break, remained along the inner rail for a quarter mile, eased out four wide leaving the turn, swept to command outside horses approaching the sixteenth pole, drew off under steady handling and was vanned off after pulling up lame during the gallop out. MR. HOUGHTON , bumped and forced in by WEMBY leaving the starting gate, sprinted to the early lead, set the pace along the rail to mid stretch and coninued willingly. BOX N BEN , three wide around the turn, chased the pace to mid stretch and flattened out. WEMBY bumped MR HOUGHTON when bearing in at the break, prompted the pace two wide and weakened in upper stretch. HAMPDEN LANE was outrun.
