MAJORCA , three wide the first turn, advanced to the lead mid way on the backstretch, dueled two wide on the far turn then drew away under energetic urging. DERBYNESS stalked the pace well off the rail, circled the far turn three wide, was in a striking position in upper stretch and flattened out. SURFSIDE MOON , a bit rank at the start, swung four wide entering the stretch and lacked a rally. HITTHEROADJAK , a forward factor in the two path between horses on the first turn, moved to the inner rail leaving the backstretch, dueled with the winner around the far turn then tired. STATESMAN , three wide the first turn, swung to the five path in upper stretch and was always outrun. VANCE SCHOLARS showed speed along the inner rail, faltered after six furlongs and was eased.
