Footnotes
NAPOLEON SOLO broke slightly outward and lightly brushed with CORNONA DE ORO, corrected and edged up to a stalking position nearing the first turn, tracked TAJ MAJAL while nicely rated through the backstretch run, moved to the attack leaving the far turn, poked a head in front while in hand near the five sixteenths, spurted clear then was met with a challenge from an outer IRON HONOR, kept that one at bay while drifting in leaving the three sixteenths, straightened then kept on resolutely under repeated right handed asks to prove best. IRON HONOR , four deep while in range near the seven eighths, was urged along three deep chasing past the three eighths, ranged up with a bold run entering the stretch, gave hard chase past mid stretch, switched over to his left lead with about a sixteenth to go, flattened out but remained well clear of the rest. CHIP HONCHO , three wide between rivals around the first turn, remained between horses in a stalking position through the backstretch and final turn, edged up to have aim near the quarter pole, failed to sustain past mid stretch and faded late. OCELLI bobbled at the break then was bumped and in close, rated back off foes and dropped off the pace while saving ground, took closer order leaving the far turn, angled out and worked between horses into the lane, straightened about four wide and continued on willingly. INCREDIBOLT settled well back and off the inside, was guided outward leaving the three eighths, came six wide for the drive, drifted in making contact with THE HELL WE DID, corrected and churned on. BULL BY THE HORNS drafted well off the early pace, saved ground early then moved off the inside, angled out around the final turn, raced seven wide into the stretch and offered a belated response. THE HELL WE DID , between rivals early, angled out near the half, was under a hustling ride four to five wide past the five sixteenths, took a bump from an outer INCREDIBOLT soon into the lane then failed to seriously kick on. GREAT WHITE bobbled at the break, raced four wide early, gained between horses nearing the half, was under pressure pursuing past the five sixteenths and faded. ROBUSTA broke inward bumping CRUPPER, corrected and rushed up to the inside of rivals nearing the first turn, stumbled when checked along the rail leaving the seven eighths, angled out through the stretch and kept on trying between foes through the final yards. TAJ MAHAL broke forwardly and was bumped, sped clear early and secured the inside around the first turn, dug in when confronted by the winner leaving the far turn, fought on to upper stretch then weakened through the final furlong. CORONA DE ORO , brushed at the start, lost ground four to five wide, advanced outside runners near the five sixteenths, was unable to sustain in upper stretch and weakened. TALKIN , two wide between rivals near the seven eighths, dropped in for the backstretch run and stalked, took closer order inside foes near the half, failed to go on under pressure past the five sixteenths and tired. CRUPPER , bumped and in tight at the break, raced well back and off the inside through the backstretch run, retreated into the lane and was eased late. PRETTY BOY MIAH , off a beat slow, moved up some while four wide early on, failed to respond leaving the far turn, faltered and was eased through the lane.
