REMEMBERTHEWORD , three deep with the pace, sparred outside PELICAN PIER from the five sixteenths, was fanned four wide soon into the lane, poked a head in front in mid stretch, remained on her left lead while dueling and dug in gamely under a drive. PELICAN PIER , sent from the gate, set a pressured pace inside a pair of foes, emerged in a duel inside the winner leaving the three eighths, drifted out a couple paths into the lane, corrected, lost the advantage a furlong out but stayed on valiantly to just miss. ISLAND BANDIT broke a beat slow, chased in the clear, shifted out for the final sixteenth and offered a mild run. BARU vied between runners early, was outpaced past nearing mid stretch, saved ground into the stretch and faded. MAGIC ELIXIR broke slowly and a bit outward, raced well off the pace and well off the inside, came five wide for the drive and had some belated action. SPEED FOCUSED , sluggish from the gate, was outrun.
