DIAMOND SUE vied between foes while under rating, poked a head in front leaving the far turn, edged clear with about three furlongs remaining, responded when shaken up in upper stretch and drew out under a steady hand ride. MARGARET P , jostled at the break, regrouped and edged up to track the embattled trio of leaders, angled four wide nearing the lane, straightened and continued on willingly to be second best. VALERIE STREET, racing without front shoes, was with the pace three deep, gave hard chase three wide from the head of the lane and faded. CHICKIN LICKIN broke inward and bumped with MARGARET P, straightened and moved to a slim early advantage inside, took pressure from a pair of outer foes, ceded the lead exiting the far turn, stayed on to upper stretch then gave way. TEA ROSE , a bit rank at the break, bumped with an outer foe, regrouped and advanced towards the inside leaving the five eighths, shifted out with pursuit into the lane, lacked a punch past the three sixteenths and weakened. FIRE AT MIDNIGHT , fractious in the post parade and in the gate, was sluggish away and never got involved.
