STRAIGHT TO WATER prompted the pace outside NEON BORDEAUX, took the lead near the three eighths pole, opened a clear advantage approaching the stretch, drifted out in upper stretch and prevailed under steady handling. NEON BORDEAUX , sent to the early lead, hugged the inner rail, steadied in narrow quarters mid way on the far turn, swung out near the quarter pole, drifted in near the eighth pole, drifted out near the sixteenth pole and drifted in approaching the finish. An objection by the rider of NEONN BORDEAUX against the winner for alleged interference on the far turn was not allowed.
