FUTILE GESTURE , bumped at the break, was nudged up between foes early the rated back off of an outer pair entering the turn, angled out, circled four wide under a ride into the lane, ranged up to engage an inner BARU soon past the furlong grounds, dueled on a slim lead past the sixteenth pole and held firm under a steady hand ride. BARU had speed between rivals and held a slim lead leaving the far turn, dueled along the rail from the far turn to the head of the lane, shook clear under pressure with three sixteenths remaining, dug in when confronted by FUTILE GESTURE leaving the eighth pole, lost the lead inside the sixteenth marker but stayed on valiantly to the wire. MAGIC ELIXIR , a bit rank at the break, rushed up four wide nearing the turn to draw on near even terms, sparred outside BARU around the turn, stayed on between rivals into the stretch, was unable to keep pace near mid stretch and faded. KESSEL RUN , brushed at the start, had speed inside runners then was eased back off the leaders into the turn, tracked the trio of leaders past the five sixteenths, shifted out some into the lane, lacked a punch past the three sixteenths and faded. MONETA AGENDA broke inward bumping the winner, corrected but was unable to keep pace.
