IN HONOR OF JEFF broke slowly and towards the outside, regrouped and settled well off of a hotly contested pace, saved ground gathering momentum past the five sixteenths, eased out to work between runners soon into the lane, was guided well out in the track leaving mid stretch, closed relentlessly under solid handling and got up in the final jumps. KITTY'S SON , bumped at the break, recovered and settled off the pace while saving ground, cut the corner into the lane, had clear sailing along the rail and gained under pressure leaving mid stretch, drew to near even terms in deep stretch but was edged at the wire. MANSEEYASWAY was sent up to the inside of rivals to gain the early advantage, was hounded by an outer pair, sparred into and around the turn, shook clear under a drive in upper stretch, wandered outward clinging to the lead past the sixteenth pole then gave way grudgingly. NEVERWORKEDADAY , urged chasing the embattled trio, angled out past the five sixteenths then circled four wide under pressure into the stretch, ranged up past the three sixteenths, took a bump from an inner foe near the eighth pole then flattened out late. GALLO broke inward bumping KITT'S SON, raced with the pace three deep, battled on near even terms approaching the stretch, could not quite go with the leader in upper stretch, stayed on to chase between rivals nearing mid stretch, took contact from a drifting inner foe and faded. CLAVIN disputed the pace between rivals, drifted out with pursuit nearing mid stretch, bumped with an outer GALLO and weakened. RAGING CAJUN , four deep early, pursued to the inside of a rival mid turn and gave way.
