BELLE OF LIBERTY , with the early pace three deep, sparred outside a rival around the turn, briefly went clear under a drive inside the three sixteenths, dug in when confronted from her outside with a sixteenth to go, drifted in slightly nearing the wire and prevailed. BARBED WIRE BARBIE stalked the dueling leaders while four wide, ranged up in mid stretch, threatened outside the winner near the sixteenth pole, could not go with that one but stayed willingly to nab the place over a troubled inner foe. GOTTA BE DA SHOES drafted back off the speed while saving ground, steadied into the turn, checked mid turn, regrouped to make inside progress into the turn, stretch, worked between runners leaving the furlong grounds, moved closer to the inner rail, threatened then checked when in close near the wire. SPRING TRAINING , off the pace and off the inside, was fanned about ten wide in upper stretch, bumped soundly with an inner foe near mid stretch, drifted in near the sixteenth pole, corrected and kept on with effort. MOSLER PARTY , reluctant to load, stalked the pace, angled out four wide into the stretch then came up empty in the final furlong. HOLLYWOOD MISCHIEF , a bit hesitant to load, raced with range while five wide, continued well wide with pursuit in the lane then once paced in the final furlong. REGAL FLAIR drafted back off the pace and towards the inside, eased out and moved up nearing mid stretch, steadied when getting in and faded under some hand urging. PONEY ISLAND , off the pace, angled seven to eight wide in upper stretch, bumped with an outer foe in mid stretch then flattened out. SUNDAY LYRICS was fanned very wide for the drive and failed to generate a rally. HAIL NO , quickly to contention, vied on a slim lead inside foes into the turn, dueled with the winner around the turn, failed to kick on past the three sixteenths and gave way. THE RIZZLER'S GIRL vied between foes, steadied back off the leaders into the turn, regrouped to track to upper stretch then weakened. CALL ME RED , away very poorly, raced far back, saved ground nearing the lane, shifted out and had some belated interest. There was a stewards' inquiry into the start of CALL ME RED but no action was taken. Also, an objection by the rider of GOTTA BE DA SHOES against the winner alleging interference in deep stretch was not allowed.
