WORLD ON FIRE , forwardly placed off the inside, edged up between runners into the far turn, came out four wide for the drive, closed determinedly under right handed asking, drew alongside EDLEWEISS in deep stretch and got up in the final jumps. EDELWEISS , five wide early, tapered in prompting outside into the turn, bid then dueled past the five sixteenths, briefly went clear near the furlong grounds, dug in when joined from his outside, sparred through the final seventy yards and just failed to hold in a valiant effort. MOSE SMOKIN , four then three wide on the lead, dropped a bit closer to the rail leaving the far turn, dueled inside EDELWEISS from the three eighths to upper stretch, stayed willingly to about the sixteenth marker then faded. FIGHTING WORDS angled out early and settled off the pace, moved between rivals mid turn, angled five wide for the drive but came up empty. BLO BY'EM broke a step slow then was squeezed a bit, regrouped and raced well off the inside, circled six wide into the lane but lacked a rally. MAXIMUS SPEED edged up early and stalked towards the inside, failed to respond into the lane and weakened through the final furlong.
