Footnotes
DUKE OF GLOUCESTER rated back off foes nearing the first turn, was coaxed along to the inside of a rival while trailing near the five eighths, angled out and was put to firmer pressure exiting the far turn, circled four wide with progress into the lane, forged clear of inner rivals nearing the furlong grounds and drew away. HITTHEROADJAK had a shoe repair in the paddock, broke sharp then was hung four deep into the first turn, dropped in a path to stalk through the backstretch run, edged up into the far turn then bid outside SECRET ZIPPER after six furlongs, sparred with that one to upper stretch, failed to contain the outer winner while on his left lead past mid stretch, switched over to his correct lead for the final sixteenth and kept on with good effort. SECRET ZIPPER took over between runners entering the first turn, eagerly cleared approaching the backstretch, dropped in and set a sharp pace while widening past the five eighths, met an outside bid from HITTHEROADJAK near the five sixteenths, stayed on to battle to about mid stretch then gave way grudgingly. CROSSLAND broke awkwardly and was away last, regrouped and lost ground four wide approaching the backstretch, gathered some steam to make headway three wide leaving the far turn, chased into the lane and continued on trying to the wire. GOODBYE NOTE saved ground with pursuit, angled out for the drive and faded. AIN'T DA BEER COLD forced the issue into the first turn, chased between rivals past the three quarter pole, faltered after five furlongs and was eased through the lane.
