Footnotes
BRIGHTY bumped with OXFORD UNION leaving the starting gate, settled off the duel down the backstretch, split horses at the head of the stretch, raced on his left lead the final furlong, swept to command near the sixteenth pole and drew off. DATS TAP dueled outside KOHOUTEK, went clear on the far turn and gave way grudgingly. OXFORD UNION , steadied when bumping with the winner leaving the starting gate, raced in the two path the far turn, eased outside approaching the eighth pole and rallied. BASIC MILES , three wide the first turn, floated five wide leaving the far turn and passed tired rivals. KITTY'S SON , rank entering the first turn, swung to the six path in upper stretch and passed tired rivals. BAND TOUR stayed along the inner rail and gave way turning for home. FIERY DEBUT , up close down the backstretch, gave way in the stretch. KOHOUTEK , angled in early, hugged the inner rail, dueled to the far turn then faltered. CHOCOLATE BROWNIE , no factor, stayed along the inner rail the far turn.
