ALBORZ , fractious behind the starting gate, rated along the rail down the backstretch, remained inside horses on the far turn, eased out in upper stretch, bumped with THE WRATH OF DAVID in mid stretch, took command near the sixteenth pole and lasted. STARS ON THE WATER dueled outside IMPERIAL CHARTER, dropped back between horses leaving the far turn, swung wide in upper stretch and rallied. THE WRATH OF DAVID attempted to bear out entering the first turn, hugged the inner rail in a forward position, lacked room in upper stretch, angled out bumping the winner in mid stretch then closed between the top pair. MESHACH advanced in the four path between horses on the far turn, gained a short lead entering the stretch, drifted in and wekened. IMPERIAL CHARTER sped to the early lead and moved to the inner rail, dueled to mid stretch and weakened. ECCE QUAM BONUM (IRE) , reluctant to load into the starting gate, broke slowly, was caught in tight quarters between horses entering the far turn and was not a late factor. COURT NIGHT , caught in tight quarters at the start, circled the far turn five wide. SHARP SQUALL was outrun.
