Footnotes
DON'T WAIT UP , perched three wide off of a contested pace, cruised up and bid three deep after a half mile, sparred under confident handling past the five sixteenths, responded when given his cue entering the lane, kicked away from BROTHER CONWAY while under a drive in mid stretch then widened while kept alert. BROTHER CONWAY moved up to the inside of COLONEL VARGO and poked a head in front leaving the five and a half furlong pole, took outer pressure, dug in when joined by the winner leaving the three eighths, battled into the lane, gave way grudgingly through the final furlong and remained clear for the place. COLONEL VARGO had speed to lead early, stayed latched to BROTHER CONWAY into the far turn, raced between foes three furlongs out, failed to quicken on with the leaders approaching the stretch, shifted out for the drive and faded. BYK , four wide pursuing the embattled leaders, failed to drum up a rally. STATES UNITED , unprepared as the gates sprung, hopped up and was away last, saved ground off the pace, eased out in the drive and finished with interest. SELF TAUGHT , away awkwardly, was urged along off the rail and failed to respond. LET'S HAVE A PARTY saved ground and weakened.
