Footnotes
FUTILE GESTURE bumped with DERRY MOON leaving the starting gate, accelerated to the front, hugged the inner rail, was under energetic urging in the stretch run and drew off. WALT'S NOTION prompted the winner around the turn, failed to keep up with that one in upper stretch, weakened and drifted out late. CALL IT broke slowly, worked between horses through the stretch and rallied. SIP OF MANHATTAN raced in the two path mid way on the turn, moved to the inner at the head of the lane, remained there and failed to menace. ARUBA ARIBA , a forward factor well off the rail on the turn, gave way. DERRY MOON bumped with the winner at the start, drifted wide on the turn and weakened. ECLIPSENESS , no factor, was always wide. UNCLE K O was no factor. EL PANTERA dropped back.
