ENGAGED IS BETTER sprinted to the early lead, saved ground around the turn, drifted wide in upper stretch and drew away under urging. GIRVINSKI , three deep around the turn, chased the winner and gained the place. SLIGHTLY MOTIVATED pressed the winner around the turn and weakened in the drive. CECILTON , four wide on the turn, angled in for the drive and finished evenly along the rail. BLO ON BY , squeezed back leaving the starting gate, raced along the inner rail mid way on the turn, angled out and swung to the six path in mid stretch and failed to menace. SGT. FINLEY hesitated at the break, saved ground on the turn, hugged the inner rail in the stretch and was checked lacking room near the eighth pole. KING XISCO remained along the rail, chased the winner to upper stretch and gave way. DIAMOND BOY BLUE bore out leaving the starting gate and was no factor. EL PANTERA bore in leaving the starting gate, steadied in traffic near the five eigths pole and faltered.
