Footnotes
BARBADIAN RUNNER , patiently handled four wide off the early pace, tapered in some while edging closer into the far turn, responded to firmer coaxing and ranged up three wide to engage the leader in upper stretch, took over under left handed asking in mid stretch then steadily pulled away while ridden out. PHANTOM SPEED , taken to rate early, edged up about three wide and to the inside of the winner approaching the far turn, steadied briefly when hemmed in soon after, regrouped to chase, angled four wide into the lane, chased under strong encouragement past mid stretch and finished up willingly to earn the place. HITTHEROADJAK , gunned from the gate, went clear into the first turn and set the pace off the inside, remained in front two wide into the stretch, ceded to the winner past the three sixteenths then weakened very late. FORMAL AFFAIR lagged back, was under a hearty ride past the five sixteenths, swung out four wide into the lane but failed to muster up a solid kick. SECRET ZIPPER moved up into the first turn and stalked the pace, saved ground into the far turn, failed to kick on under a drive in upper stretch and weakened. HARDSPUN REASON , off the pace, faltered around the final turn and was eased late. An objection by the rider of PHANTOM SPEED against the winner for alleged interference in the vicinity of the half mile pole was not allowed.
