Footnotes
SPEAKING OF ART outpaced early, made a steady three to four wide rally from the half-mile pole, and ran down the leader in the last jump despite not changing leads through the lane. PURLY DIALED IN dueled outside of MIZZ FACTOR from the start, gained the advantage in upper stretch, went clear, then was tagged on the wire. MIZZ FACTOR dueled inside of PURLY DIALED IN to the stretch, then gave way but kept on well enough to save the minor award. SPEAKER BABY was last away, raced three to four wide throughout, then made a sustained belated rally to improve. GOLD MESA got pinballed and shuffled back after the start, settled behind horses down the backstretch, moved out for a clear run through the turn, advanced into contention, loomed a threat at the head of the stretch but had trouble changing leads, and faltered. R S AMERICAN SPEED ducked in sharply at the start, making contact with GOLD MESA, raced in mid-pack between horses early, then lacked a finish. EVIL TOM tracked four-wide off the pace, then started to fade midway through the turn. SHEZHELL ON WHEELS chased at the back and was unable to improve.
