WHIMSICAL HEIR settled inside of the very compact field through the early going, slipped through the open rail at the quarter pole to take a short lead, staged a spirited battle with NANG SINGHA down the late, but kept that one at bay to prevail. NANG SINGHA tracked three-wide close up, bid for the lead four-wide at the quarter pole, battled with WHIMSICAL HEIR through the late stages but could not get past that one. FOREVER SAFE broke a step slow but quickly recovered to press the early pace, made a move for the lead approaching the three-furlong pole, was unable to kick on when confronted at the top of the stretch, and flattend out. MOLA MIA had the best speed from the gate and took command early, led the compact field into the turn where confronted by FOREVER SAFE, dropped out at the five-sixteenths marker, and was not a factor in the late stages. THE GIRL IN RED raced in range to the turn, then dropped behind the field near the three furlong pole and chased the rest of the way.
