CHECKER'S SONG settled off the pace along the rail, got a big opening at the three-sixteenths marker, dueled DOUBLEBARRELVINNY through the stretch, got a head in front late and held to the wire. DOUBLEBARRELVINNY broke on top but ceded the early lead, pressed SHE'S EXTRA to the outside, always close up, became boxed in late on the turn, but responded when asked to go through an opening at the top of the stretch, finished well but just missed. SHE'S EXTRA ducked out after the start, bothering BREWSTER COUNTY, made the front and led the field to the stretch with a trio in close pursuit, battled between rivals, then weakened in the final furlong. SASSY FLYER got off to an awkward start, then took up when CHECKER'S SONG took the path, was taken to the outside while a bit rank going down the backstretch, moved up four-wide on the last turn, loomed a threat but flattened out in upper stretch. BREWSTER COUNTY lost the path and took up when SHE'S EXTRA came over after the start, was never involved, and chased throughout.
