Footnotes
SENSE OF AWE rushed up after the break to take the early lead on the first turn, was left alone to dictate moderate fractions, was still well in hand on the far turn, then responded when set down at the top of the stretch and maintained a clear advantage to the wire. REAL MISCHIEVOUS broke well but ceded the front, was held up in a stalking position with no clear path, bided time through the far turn, tipped out to the two-path in upper stretch, and finished well for second but was not getting to the winner. POWER NAP ducked out sharply at the start, throwing the rider off balance, then was allowed to settle near the back after the break, stayed to the outside of the field, advanced steadily up the backstretch, was under a ride with three furlongs to run, swung four-wide into the stretch, and finished up well to gain third while never a threat to the winner. KARA broke outward at the start and lost a length or two to correct, was the distant early trailer, then made a belated rally to improve. FIND THE LIGHT was always close up through the early stages, made a three-wide bid leaving the quarter pole, loomed a threat, but flattened out a bit in the final furlong. SAY AS I SAY settled in mid-pack along the rail for the first half-mile, came out to the three-path on the far turn, and did not respond to steady right-handed urging. STRIKE THE BELL tracked close up for the first half-mile, was not making much progress through the far turn, then weakened approaching the quarter pole and tired in the late stages.
