BILL broke out at the start and crowded outer rivals, went up to dispute the pace into the first turn, prompted the decent pace from the outside along the backstretch, vied for the lead into the far turn then took command nearing the top of the lane, kicked clear to the furlong pole, drew off into the final sixteenth and kept to task in deep stretch while under moderate hand urging. ROYALIST broke out at the start and crowded outer rival, settled in the second flight, tracked the decent pace while saving ground into the backstretch, kept an inside path to the far turn, tipped out into upper stretch, could not make headway on the winner in the late stages, along in time for the place honors. STRAIGHTAWAY broke alertly, vied for the early lead then engaged with BILL and disputed the pace with that foe into the backstretch, set a decent pace while pressured to the half-mile, dueled BILL into the far turn, repelled by the winner into upper stretch, was outkicked late for second and was well clear of the rest for third. CITIZEN BARRETT settled in the second flight, tracked the decent pace three wide and between foes into the backstretch, took back into the far turn then ran in pursuit three wide to the quarter marker, was forced out by the drifting QUALITY STYLE into upper stretch, fought on late, was no match for the top three and bested the rest. WITHERING GAZE bobbled then crowded at the start, was unhurried in the early going and trailed to the backstretch, last into the far turn, was roused outside of foes at the quarter pole then got carried to the six path to upper stretch, kept on while widest through the lane and passed tiring rivals late. QUALITY STYLE settled in the second flight and four wide early on, tracked the decent pace while widest along the backstretch, chased the leading pair into the far turn, was outkicked to the quarter marker then drifted out in upper stretch, bothered foes at the three-sixteenths, could not find more into the stretch drive and weakened late. MISSING ROCKS crowded at the start and off a step slowly, settled in the second flight and two wide in the early stages, tracked the decent pace to the half-mile marker while between runners, chased along the far turn then was outrun to the quarter pole, came up empty in the drive, was eased through the lane and walked off.
