Footnotes
DEAR ADMIRAL ducked in at the start, was still away well and dueled inside of STILLASHOP through the turn, gained the upper hand on that one before the quarter pole and drew clear in the stretch in a solid debut. WESTERN SWAG was slow into stride, was driven forward while advancing through the turn, had some trouble with the lead change at the top of the stretch, but got straightened out and moved up to claim the second prize. STILLASHOP broke on top but was quickly joined by DEAR ADMIRAL, dueled outside of that rival through the turn but raced a bit greenly in upper stretch and did not kick on. COMPETITIVE CHARGE raced in mid-pack along the inside under a ride, and finished with some interest. HUCKLEBERRY FINN broke well, pressed the early pace three-wide, dropped back on the turn, and went evenly in the later stages. CARBON STEEL took up early, dropped to the back, bid five-wide into the stretch but could not improve. GOLDEN REY was outpaced early, swung seven-wide into the stretch, but did not threaten. SOARING JUNIOR broke well but was not fast enough to join the early pace, chased four-wide through the turn, under a drive, and lacked a rally. GRAND EAGLE was away last, made a mild three-wide bid on the turn, came out six-wide into the stretch but lacked a finish. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE START, AND THE JOCKEY ON #1 CARBON STEEL LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST #2 DEAR ADMIRAL ALLEGING INTEREFERENCE SHORTLY AFTER THE START. AFTER A REVIEW THE OBJECTION WAS DISALLOWED AND THE ORIGINAL RESULTS MADE OFFICIAL.
