AWESOME ROAD was allowed to settle after the break, then moved up late on the backstretch run to press FLOTATION STATION on the lead, bided time in hand to the quarter pole, then responded when asked to go and quickly drew clear in the final furlong under a mild hand ride. TWELVE VOLT outpaced early, came out three-wide off the turn, and rallied to gain the second prize. FLOTATION STATION jumped out to a clear early lead, dug in under a threat near the quarter pole, was no match for the winner, got outfinished for second but finished well clear of the next horse. PERLIANO broke well, settled three-wide off the pace, stayed on but was never a serious threat. PANUCO was held up early near the back, pulled forward close to the turn, swung four-wide into the stretch, then was outfinished. MACKVILLE settled three-wide near the back, and lacked a rally. MYSTERIOUS SPIRIT was forwardly placed on the inside to the stretch, then tired.
