Footnotes
CLASSIC RICK was hustled to the front, took command before the half, turned back all challengers at the top of the stretch, and finished strong under steady handling and urging to hold safe to the wire. SON OF A BLING ducked in at the start, taking out the two inside rivals, got forward position without really being asked, tracked the early pace battle to the turn, moved up on the inside to be in range by the top of the stretch, briefly waited for room, then produced a steady finish to gain second. CAMPFIRE CREED got broadsided by SON OF A BLING at the start and forced into ROCKET SANDERS, pressed the pace into the turn, came under pressure from the five-sixteenths marker, had aim on the leaders turning for home, had every chance in the stretch but went flat in the final yards. ROCKET SANDERS got interfered with at the start and was off slow, steadily advanced up the backstretch, went out four-wide late on the turn to bid for the lead, loomed a big threat, but hung, and flattened out in the late stages. SEND OFF dropped to the back of the pack after a level start, chased the field into the turn, came out five-wide into the stretch, and improved. STANS HOME RUN settled three-wide in mid-pack, loomed a threat at the top of the stretch, but was not doing enough in the late stages. EL GUTY pressed the early pace three-wide, came under a stiff drive midway through the turn but did not respond. RIPSTER contested the early pace between rivals, dropped out at the half-mile pole, and retreated to last on the turn.
