Footnotes
DEVIL'S MISCHIEF popped alertly from the gate and established a three-wide stalking position while contesting the early tempo, advanced through the far turn to engage MAN OF MISCHIEF, battled gamely with that stubborn rival through the stretch, and prevailed by a nose at the wire. MAN OF MISCHIEF sent along from the start to dispute the pace, maintained a slight edge under pressure from outside rivals, dueled with DEVIL'S MISCHIEF on the far turn and yielded only late while missing narrowly. SOLEVO was off a step slowly despite early urging, tracked a couple of lengths behind the pace battle, came under a drive nearing the quarter pole, failed to threaten the top pair but held on for third. WISH MAN allowed to settle near the rear while never far back, advanced after the three-furlong pole, but leveled off while on the wrong lead and failed to improve further. HELA FOREVER got squeezed a bit at the start, then dueled for the early lead between rivals, gave way after the seven-sixteenths pole, faded thereafter, and was not a factor late.
