Footnotes
PINE TREE ROCKET crowded at the start and a step slow to begin, rushed up and stalked the early pace while saving ground, went up to vie for the lead nearing the quarter marker, took command while on the left lead nearing the furlong pole, kept to task to the final sixteenth and held off his stablemate late. INWOOD DRIVE was crowded a bit at the start then settled off of the early pace while in the second flight, kept an inside path to the stretch, was gaining to the final sixteenth, could not reel in his stablemate in deep stretch and bested the rest. FLAT OUT BLESSED hopped then in tight at the start, settled in the second flight and between rivals in the early going, angled three then four wide nearing the quarter marker, gained ground to mid-stretch, was outkicked to the final sixteenth, kept on late and got up in time for third. FAIR HOPE away in good order, showed speed from the gate and stalked the early pace three deep, went up to dispute the pace two wide nearing the quarter pole, battled PINE TREE ROCKET to mid-stretch, could not keep pace with the winner to the final sixteenth, faded in deep stretch and was outfinished for third. WHY NOT HIM lunged at the start and was last away from the gate, settled four wide along the backstretch then ran in pursuit into the turn, coaxed five wide to the quarter pole, angled in to upper stretch, chased to the final sixteenth, no late kick, flattened out. GAME RUNNER broke in at the start and crowded inner rivals, showed good early speed and disputed the pace from between foes along the backstretch, took back into the turn, angled out and chased three wide to upper stretch, could not find more at the furlong grounds, weakened in the drive. PRINCE OF MISCHIEF prominent away from the start, took back and settled in the second flight, dropped back into the turn then trailed at the quarter pole, lacked a response to upper stretch and did not factor in the late stages. CODY THE KID was forwardly placed away from the gate then rated off of the early speed, caught five wide into the turn, lost action nearing the quarter marker, was pulled up in upper stretch and was transported off of the course via the equine ambulance.
