INNOVA was forwardly placed in the early running, went up to press from the inside heading into the turn, took a short lead at the quarter marker then dug in into upper stretch, kept HERE COMES BRAYLON at bay into the final sixteenth and proved best. HERE COMES BRAYLON broke alertly and took early command, set a pressured pace off of the rail heading into the turn, was overtaken nearing the quarter marker then fought on into the stretch, fought gamely into the lane, could not get by INNOVA into the final sixteenth and was a clear second. MIDNIGHT BOSS tracked the early pace from the inside, chased the leading pair to the quarter marker, tipped out and ran in pursuit to mid-stretch, was not able to impact the top two in the stretch drive but was clear of the rest for third. TOWN HERO settled in the early stages, angled in into the turn then saved ground nearing the quarter marker, kept an inside path to the stretch and failed to threaten late. JOSH'S DREAM settled off of the early pace then went up to stalk three deep approaching the turn, came under a drive while three to four wide nearing the quarter marker, could not find the needed response to upper stretch and gave way. WEST OF ME fractious in gate, broke in tangle, unseated rider, walked off. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INVOLVING THE START FOR WEST OF ME AND DETERMINED THAT RUNNER CAUSED HIS OWN ISSUES AT THE BREAK, AND NO CHANGE WOULD BE MADE.
