Footnotes
HAMLIN lost the path to the outside foe after the start, moved up gradually to establish forward position going into the first turn, was up to third but three wide in the run down the backstretch, bided time to the far turn, was sent after passing the three-furlong ppole, steadily closed in on QUALITY STYLE on the lead and was un in the final yards. QUALITY STYLE jumped out to a clear early lead, maintained the margin through the far turn, finished well but could not hold off the winner in the final yards. SCOUSER showed good speed from the outside post, was held up behind the leader in second position for the first half-mile, responded when asked to quicken into the far turn, but could not kick on with the top two in the late stages while holding third. TYLER'S TURN settled well back in the field early, came three-wide into the stretch and produced a grinding rally to improve, but was never a serious threat. GONNABEAGOODDAY was roused from the break but not fast enough to contest early, settled at the back of the back for the backstretch run, moved out ot the three path and started to run on passing the three-furlong pole, but lacked the needed late kick. ETERNAL MISCHIEF got a good trip along the inside in the middle of the pack, moved out to the three-path in the stretch but could not find the needed late response. DEACON JONES veered in while being hustled out of the gate, bothering the inside rival, tracked close up along the inside to the stretch, then lacked a late bid. OLD BOYS CLUB settled three-wide in mid-pack, launched a bid from the three-furlong pole, came four-wide into the stretch, but weakened in the last furlong. WITHERING GAZE missed the break and was off behind the field, settled at the back of the field, kept on a steady pace, and passed some stragglers in the late stages. UPTONO BUENA was off a step slow, went three to four wide on the first turn, stayed the path down the backstretch, then did not offer up a late bid. GUS CAUSE settled well back along the inside and lacked a rally. ZORRO D' ORO raced in mid-pack three to four wide to the far turn, then started a steady retreat early on the far turn.
