CLOSING SPEAKER broke well and was four-deep in the early pace mix, went ahead with EDGEMEISTER through the turn, gained the advantage in upper stretch, and held clear to the wire. TAPITSGOTAPISTOL broke well, took back off the pace initially, was always four to five wide, moved up to challenge for the lead late on the turn, bid five-wide into the stretch, finished up well to gain and hold the place while never a serious threat to the winner. CLAIRE'S CURLIN was well off the early pace down the backstretch, advanced under a stiff drive three-wide through the turn, closed ground through the stretch, but came up short. EDGEMEISTER emerged from the early pace mix with the lead before the turn, battled gamely to mid-stretch, then weakened. AVALING was slow into stride, then moved up along the rail through the turn, was stuck behind horses to deep stretch, moved out to the five-path in the last sixteenth, then ran on well once clear, but was too late. EDGE CHASER broke on top, then settled in a tracking position three-wide, made a bid for the lead leaving the quarter pole, but flattened out late. BALI GIRLEE saved ground while racing close up behind the pacesetters, responded willingly when asked in the stretch, but was outkicked. CITYCITYBLINGBLING veered out at the start, lacked any early speed, settled three-wide near the back, then lacked a rally. CHECKER'S SONG was always near the back and showed little. WITTS OPULENT LADY raced close up for a quarter mile, then dropped off the pace and had nothing to offer in the stretch.
