Footnotes
TREVAGGIO went three wide into the clubhouse turn, pressed the pace three wide early on the backstretch run, kicked on after leaving the three-furlong pole, dueled with VEKOMA KID in upper stretch, bested that one by mid-stretch, and drew clear late. VEKOMA KID secured the rail position and the lead on the first turn, vied between horses to the half, went clear with TREVAGGIO through the turn, then gave way in mid-stretch but held clear to save the place. SHOGUN BE FAST got caught four-wide into the first turn, settled in mid-pack to the half-mile pole, responded when asked for more run near the five-sixteenth marker, came four-wide into the stretch, and made a mild late bid but never threatened the top two. NEWS AT NINE pressed the pace in the two-path between rivals, made a three-wide bid for the lead with about three furlongs to run, but weakened before the stretch and was outfinished. WOW THAT'S HOT was the inside horse in the tracking pair, saved ground, but lacked a finish. KAWAZAKI (IRE) trailed throughout.
