Footnotes
RIVETAGE was outpaced early, launched a bid leaving the three-furlong pole, came out five-wide into the stretch, and rallied under left-handed urging and was just up at the wire. MYSTIFICATION away well, pushed to the front in the initial furlong, led the way through the turn, held off all challengers to the stretch but was tagged by the winner in the last jump. TEXIAN DEVIL was slow to begin, raced mid-pack down the backstretch, came under the crop at the quarter pole, kept on with a grinding finish, and was able to gain the third spot. RING SEEKER broke on top, ceded the lead to MYSTIFICATION early, remained in a stalking position just to the outside of that one, loomed a threat in upper stretch but was unable to find the winning late kick when needed. SIXHOOFSEVENHOOF was a bit slow into stride, moved up gradually down the backstretch, was in range of the leaders at the half-mile pole, came under a ride to keep pace late on the turn, but did not respond and finished evenly. HAMAZING WISDOM dropped back to last after a level start and was never a threat. WARHAMMER pressed the pace three-wide, then weakened in the stretch.
