Footnotes
ROCKIN' JAMES broke a step slow and shuffled back at the start, settled three-wide with the tracking group, moved up through the turn to join the dueling leaders near the quarter pole, and outfinished GO LANG through the final furlong to prevail. GO LANG hustled to the front, dueled inside of NO REGRET from the outset, put that rival away near the quarter pole, dug in under threat from ROCKIN' JAMES at the top of the stretch, then gave way grudgingly in the late stages. NO REGRET dueled outside of GO LANG to the turn, gave way near the quarter pole but kept on well to save third. HE MIGHT GO raced between horses in the tracking group, came under urging midway through the turn, failed to mount a threat, and finished evenly. HANK RIDGE settled mid-pack well behind the dueling leaders, struggled to keep pace on the turn, and was unable to threaten in the late stages. ROWDY AMERICAN trailed along the rail, was outpaced through the turn, came four wide into the stretch, and failed to rally.
