Footnotes
SPRING IN PARIS was away well to dispute the early running, ceded the lead to settle just off the pace, saved ground along the rail into the turn, was tipped three-wide into the upper stretch, launched a strong closing drive, and was up late to prevail. LESLIE'S MOJEAUX briefly challenged for the pace before moving out to the three-path, took command passing the five-sixteenths pole to open up at the top of the stretch, maintained a clear lead into mid-stretch, but was caught late while finishing well clear of the next horse. JALAPENA LENA off a step slow, was outpaced early, trailing the field while not far back, angled four-wide entering the stretch, and offered a mild finish to improve position. CYNDI LOPER vied and dueled inside with WHISKEY HIGH from the start, but proved empty and gave way passing the three-eighths pole. HARVEY'S FINNISH raced three to four-wide near the back of the pack, offered an even finish through the lane, and was never a factor. WHISKEY HIGH dueled two-wide through the early stages, proved no match for SPRING IN PARIS when that rival launched their bid, and tired in the stretch.
