Footnotes
CHEZ WHIZ was off a step slow, moved out to the five-path early for a clear run, circled the field four-wide on the turn, and outfinished the rest under steady urging. DR. SOULFIRE got shuffled back early on, was last into the turn, but not far back, navigated traffic late on the turn, tipped out to the five-path in the stretch, put in a strong finish under steady handling and just missed. SIXHOOFSEVENHOOF broke well but was taken back off the pace, settled in mid-pack, dropped to last late on the turn, then came back on to gain the third prize. RUN FOR KIDDER broke well, then ceded the front and raced inside of a trio in the second flight, was slowly closing the gap in the final stages but ran out of time. FLOTATION STATION broke on top, briefly dueled with RUN FOR KIDDER, then ceded the front to FLASH HUMOR, moved up approaching the quarter pole to press that one for the lead, battled gamely with that rival to the wire, but was overtaken by several foes in the final yards. FLASH HUMOR hustled to the lead after breaking slowly, went clear before the turn, battled back under threat at the quarter pole, but was outfinished in the final yards in a game effort. ROCKET SANDERS raced close up through the early stages, then weakened in the stretch.
