Footnotes
TEXAS CREED broke running to hold a narrow advantage out of the chute, was joined up front from the inside by JUST BERNIE soon after, dueled with that one up the backstretch and into the turn, edged away to garner a bit larger advantage into the stretch, set down for the drive, battled to the wire and dug in late to hold a couple of rivals safe in the waning strides. AGGIE'S CREED away in good order outside the winner, pressed that one early then fell back a bit to stalk the leading duo three wide, continued forwardly through the turn, lugged in a bit nearing the furlong grounds, was righted, finished willingly to be closing the gap on the winner late while up for the place in the final strides widest of the first flight at the wire. JUST BERNIE moved up after the start to duel inside the winner, continued on equal terms with that one through most of the turn, fell back slightly with a quarter remaining then ran on stubbornly to the end, just nipped for the place late. VINO TEXAS JESS void of any speed for a half, set down turning for home in the three path, staged a willingly rally while remaining off the rail to be going best of all at the wire while too late and in some traffic. HIGH CINCO back off the pace in the two path, called on for run midway on the turn, failed to respond in the drive in coming up empty. BATTALION LEADER off the pace while well out in the strip, raced four wide through the turn, had little left for the stretch drive.
