Footnotes
OUTLAW EMPIRE broke with the leaders to contest the issue out of the chute, narrowly showed the way up the backstretch and through the turn, shook off the other speed to be clear when straightened for home, continued to maintain daylight past the furlong marker then had just enough left to hold off the next two in the final jumps. GRIND JIM off slowly, continued to lag well back into and through the turn, moved out widest for the drive, made a big run down the middle of the strip to finish fast, narrowly missed. ROYALIST back off the first flight, moved out a bit when still back late backstretch, angled out further to be four wide when advancing into the stretch, roused, staged a steady rally to close the gap on the winner while unable to match the runner up late while finishing up between those two. SIR TOM broke forwardly, prompted the issue up front in the four path, continued four wide through the turn, lost some ground to the winner into the stretch then began to gradually weaken soon after. DETTORI one paced early while off the inside, three wide through most of the turn, shifted out a bit for the drive, improved by picking off a couple of tiring rivals, no real threat. OBVIOUS CONCLUSION steered inside midway up the backstretch, continued to save ground into and through the turn, lacked a closing response when called on for the drive. I'M A DUDE TO broke forwardly, pressed the pace while three wide and between horses, began to weaken late in the turn. ELIGIO flashed speed for a half just outside the winner and between horses, gave way turning for home, trailed in.
