GIOCOSO moved closer out of the chute onto the main course well off the inside, pulled into the first turn, raced within striking distance while four wide through that bend, closer three wide into the second bend, vied then put a head in front turning for home, shook clear then drifted well out past the middle of the course to the wire, enough left to hold off the rallying runner up. MESERO lacked speed for over six furlongs toward the inside while under firm restraint early, continued to save some ground, angled out to be four wide turning into the stretch when beginning to rally, continued to advance then steered to the inside of the drifting winner, continued to get to that one, not enough late. GIGANTE devoid of early foot, continued to late into the far turn, swung out to be five wide for the drive, finished with interest to be up late for the show, too late for the top pair. SALINE RIVER three wide when forcing the issue through the first turn, fell back off the lead pack after a half, dropped toward the inside, angled back out to be four wide into the lane when rerallying, angled in with the runner inside the drifting victor flattened out a bit late to be caught for the show. COUNT DRACULA broke on top, closest to the leader, moved to press that one before a half, continued to force the issue while between horses far turn, began to weaken soon after. MISTER OMAHA broke forwardly, worked way clear from the outside, set a modest pace while rating, picked up the tempo when confronted late backstretch, vied through the final turn along the inside then gave way when headed for the drive.
