POLLITO TITO ducked in sharply at the break and wiped out the two inside rivals, tracked the pace battle through the turn, then tipped out to the four-path for the stretch run, had a little trouble with the lead change but straightened out quickly, surged to the lead and won in-hand. SIX IRON broke on top, avoiding the mess to the inside, was immediately taken on by OKLAHOMA FLAME and E Z WORDS, forged ahead of those two, leaving the three-furlong pole, hit the top of the stretch with a narrow lead, but could not hold off POLLITO TITO in the final furlong. E Z WORDS was impeded by POLLITO TITO at the start and was, in turn, forced into OKLAHOMA FLAME, rushed up to join the early pace battle, was boxed in without a clear path until the stretch, was outkicked by the top pair but finished best of the rest to claim third. MIDNIGHT HUMOR steadied near the nine-sixteenths marker and shuffled back to last, moved outside for a clear run, was in range of the leaders midway through the turn, then outfinished in the stretch. OKLAHOMA FLAME got forced in towards the rail at the start, rushed up to join the pace on the rail, weakened at the quarter pole, and was unable to threaten in the later stages. THE JOCKEY ON #3 E Z WORDS LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST #6 POLLITO TITO ALLEGING INTERFERENCE AT THE START. AFTER A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UPHELD THE OBJECTION AND DISQUALIFIED #6 POLLITO TITO FROM FIRST TO FIFTH.
