Footnotes
ROOSTER ROAD hustled away from the break, dueled outside of BLACK MESA through the turn, gained the upper hand before the quarter pole, then drew off in upper stretch, and held on by a diminishing margin. PERSONALITY PLUS broke well but was not quick enough to join the early pace, launched a bid from the three-furlong pole, came out four-wide into the stretch, was closing the gap on the eventual winner but ran out of time. HOLA AMIGO was coaxed forward after the start to race up near the pace, chased the dueling leaders into the stretch, and finished well to claim the third prize. BLACK MESA showed good speed from the start, dueled inside of ROOSTER ROAD through the turn, then could not go on with that one from the quarter pole, but kept on to the finish. MANY PESOS steadied early, dropped to last before the half, moved up four-wide on the turn, and finished evenly while never a serious threat. ONE MO TRIP broke well but was hard ridden to keep up with the pace, backed off in traffic before the turn, kept to the inside path, but lacked a finish. R R JOKER was briefly close up then staged a steady retreat through the turn. MOONLIT WINGS took bump from the inside rival and was slow into stride, was moving up early on the turn, then was forced to steady, dropped back and was unable to recover. JACTANI raced mid-pack under a ride from the start, dropped back to last near the quarter pole, and was uninvolved in the later stages.
