Footnotes
LEGAL EMPRESS stalked the dueling leaders out of the chute and up the backstretch, began to creep closer to that pair while in the three path through the turn, put a head in front entering the stretch and drew out under steady handling. MO FOR US back off the pace toward the inside, raced inside the winner into the turn in the second flight, fell back off that one by midway on the bend, angled out four wide turning for home, along for the place late while able to do little with the winner. LOTTERY TICKET broke on top, alternated up front out of the chute and up the backstretch closest to the inside, continued to battle through the turn and into the lane inside, could not keep pace with the winner, caught late for the second spot. MISTY MUPPET set or forced the pace off the inside four five furlongs, briefly vied between horses into the stretch, weakened. JANES GIRLS fell back to trail after the start, four wide into the lane, no menace in lacking a closing response.
