Footnotes
CONTESSA'S SONG broke on top, relinquished the advantage to a pair of rivals soon after, moved a bit closer to the dueling leaders three deep through the turn, came four wide when taking over into the stretch, shook clear and was not threatened to the wire under steady handling. ST. ALBANS RAID back off the early pace well wide, tucked in a bit into the turn, closer behind a wall of horses late turn, idled briefly, got through while three wide, could do little with the winner late, clearly second best. AVALON GIRL off a step slow, raced back, closer three to four wide turn, angled in a bit for the stretch run, finished with some good energy to gain the nod for the show. ARR PIRATETREASURE fell back to trail just after the start, remained well back toward the inside, steered out widest for the drive, found best stride too late down the middle of the strip to narrowly miss the show spot. THE GIRL IN RED in the second flight off the inside, floated out five wide turning into the stretch, within striking distance upper stretch, lacked a closing punch to be outkicked for the third spot. R S AMERICAN TIDE asked for some run exiting the chute to contest the pace, dueled into the turn, continued battle through the bend then weakened in the drive. AMADORA'S EMPIRE in the main, group while outside, fanned six wide into the lane, lacked a closing punch. LIL TOWN SIS remained back throughout and was not a factor. CHECKER'S SONG in mid pack early, began a steady retreat before a half. INDY LA PRIMERA hustled away from the gate to duel in the two path, stopped upper stretch.
