THORSNESS showed good early speed to set the pace, maintained a clear lead, responded when roused, opened up in the stretch and was in hand the final yards. FOIL stalked three wide, chased on the turn, dug in gamely in the stretch run but clearly second best. BOYS OF SUMMER hesitated and was off slowly, outrun early, advanced on the turn, came five wide into the lane and rallied mildly outside. AWOL raced off the pace inside, moved up inside on the far turn, checked sharply lacking room at the quarter pole, then closed mildly on the rail. BEAN MACHINE raced two wide off the pace, chased on the far turn, came three wide into the lane and lacked a rally. SON OF A SLEW tracked on the inside, chased inside on the far turn and faded in the lane. WIN WINNIE WIN raced off the pace inside and did not factor. DUCK DUCK GOOSE stalked close up early two wide, then chased and gave way on the far turn.
