Footnotes
RE MARKABLY stalked three wide, chased on the turn, bid three wide at the quarter pole, rallied outside of FOLLOW THE FELLOW in the stretch run, dug in gamely, wore down that rival in deep stretch and edged clear at the finish. FOLLOW THE FELLOW stalked close up two wide, chased on the turn, bid between rivals at the quarter pole, came wide into the stretch, held a short lead, dug in gamely in the final furlong and yielded grudgingly. JOHN JAY was off slowly, tracked on the inside, chased on the turn, closed belatedly and got up late for third. GIANLUCA BE LUCKY showed good speed on the inside, opened up a clear lead, dueled briefly at the quarter pole, then weakened and lost third late. BEWARE OF PRIDE was outrun.
