BOB JOHN RAY stalked the pacesetter, bid two wide entering the far turn, dueled, led into the stretch, then dueled with DANGEROUS DRIVER in the final furlong, dug in gamely on the rail and prevailed determinedly late. DANGEROUS DRIVER raced off the pace, advanced on the far turn, bid three wide at the quarter pole, rallied outside of BOB JOHN RAY, dueled with that rival in a spirited stretch run and just missed. SKULL HONOR was bumped at the start, raced off the pace, advanced on the turn, came two wide into the lane and lacked a rally. OMEY ISLAND was bumped at the start, showed good early speed, opened up a clear lead, dueled inside on the far turn and gave way. SPARTACUS'S DUDE dropped far back and was outrun.
