Footnotes
NU WHAT'S NEW broke alertly, showed the way into the first turn, continued to set the pace up the backstretch while rating, extended that advantage through the final turn and into the stretch where he drew out further to win as he pleased. BIG GAIN settled in the second flight off the inside, called for run into the stretch, lugged out when straightened for home, edged clear late for the place, no match for the winner. DR. STORM broke with the field, settled in mid pack while five wide through the first turn, moved closer while five wide again in the second bend, drifted in a bit to help bother a tiring MIRACLE MARK, finished up best of the rest. COUPERIN off a step slow, raced back, began to advance final turn, came five wide into the lane, rallied while remaining out in the strip to improve position, no real threat. MIRACLE MARK broke well, chased winner, tiring when bothered upper, continued to weaken. SPOILER went one paced throughout while racing off the inside. ZERO SUGAR settled in the second flight, had little for the stretch run. CAPO LUCA broke a bit slow, void of speed, improved inside of rivals into the lane then flattened out in the final furlong. HAPPY STRIKE tired while saving ground. EDIFIED was finished after a half. SOUND OF VICTORY was always outrun to be finished early. MIDNIGHT WEST forwardly placed for six furlongs, stopped stretch.
