SEARCH PARTY broke behind the leaders, moved up to track the pace in the second flight inside, covered up in traffic into the far turn while remaining along the rail, idled when in traffic late in the final turn behind the leaders, tipped out in upper stretch brushing with HIT PARADE, roused firmly, ground on inside the furlong marker when inching closer, challenged between foes with a sixteenth remaining, vied to the wire and proved best in determined fashion. NEWTOWN PIKE lacked early foot off the inside, began a steady advance on the outside far turn when four wide, came five wide into the lane to lose some ground, also continued to slowly gain with good resolve through the stretch while remaining widest, late bid outside the winner, dueled final strides, missed. KNICKLEANDIME broke well, worked way clear before a quarter along the inside, continued to show the way through some moderate fractions the middle held a slight advantage late in the final bend and into the stretch, headed past the furlong marker, battled back to outfinish that rival while unable to contain the top two in the waning strides. MAXIMUM OFFER closest to the winner while off the inside, moved closer and challenged outside the pacesetter in the far turn, vied between horses into the lane, had a head in front with a furlong remaining but could not last in flattening out in the late going. HIT PARADE in mid pack early while off the inside, lodged a middle move three wide into contention far turn, was head and head for the lead three wide exiting the final bend then began to weaken when straightened for home. SPITFIRE last away, lacked speed while saving ground, continued along the inside when back off the issue final turn, failed to muster a response in the drive. GRACE IS FREE very rank and five wide into the first turn, continued unruly through that bend, moved a bit closer before a half then had little for the stretch run. COUNTING STARS settled in the second flight off the inside, stopped suddenly second turn, cantered in far back, walked off.
