Footnotes
JUSTIQUE hesitated at the break to spot the field a couple of lengths, bided time behind the main body in the two path through the turn, closer into the stretch, dropped to the rail then moved to challenged under clever handling past the furlong marker, gained the advantage then held the runner up safe in the final strides under steady handling. BENEDETTA settled behind the leaders early along the inside, continued to pursue that pair through the turn, behind horses into the stretch, in increased traffic approaching midstretch, found a seam, set down, finished willingly to be slowly getting to the winner late. SANDY BOTTOM broke on top, dueled up the backstretch and into the turn closest to the inside, disposed of the other speed nearing midstretch to be briefly clear, allowed the winner the inside a furlong out while also being confronted by the runner up, could not match strides with those two late. LADY MOSCATO crossed to the inside when lacking any early speed, steered out steadily to be four wide turning for home, staged a mild rally while not posing a serious threat. AMERICAN BAND closest to the dueling leaders while three wide, continued within striking distance upper stretch, had little the final furlong. MISS ARLINGTON away in good order, dueled up front on the outside for a half, first to blink when straightened for home, continued to weaken the final furlong. MAZOKU in the second flight off the inside, in some traffic into the turn, four to five wide into the lane, lacked a closing kick. PISTOL fell bac to trail after a quarter well wide, four path turning for home, remained back for the run through the lane.
